Parents Association - Who Are We?

The LPA is a group of volunteers who organise and run fundraising events. These events also bring the school community together in a fun, social environment.

We always endeavour to spend the funds in ways that will benefit all our children across all areas of the school and curriculum. These funds are for the ‘extras’ not provided by the school budget, that make our children’s learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting.

How do we raise our funds?

The LPA regularly hold a Christmas and a Spring Fair. We also organise family discos, the most popular of which is our fancy dress Halloween disco. Other fundraisers include cake stalls, Nearly New Toy sales and sale of strawberries and cream at sports day. We are always keen for new ideas on how to raise funds.

What do we spend the funds raised on?

Some are ongoing commitments, such as providing new books for the library, engraving plaques and cups for prize-giving, and giving each new child a book to welcome them to the school.

We have also provided:

Golden time toys, CD players for each class, outdoor fun run, flat screen TVs for the main reception area and library, mobile PA system, a portable cooker, ceiling projectors for classrooms and shelving for the library.

We always have new projects we are working towards.

The Growing Together Trust

The LPA has recently been registered as a charity under the name of The Growing Together Trust. This will enable us to fundraise more efficiently for our larger projects.

How can you help?

New members and fresh ideas are always welcome. We usually meet once a month. Offering to help before and at events is always hugely appreciated. You can also help us by letting us know if you have any contacts or skills we could use.  Details of upcoming events and LPA meetings are always given in the weekly newsletter. If you are interested in joining or helping out, simply contact the school office.
