Curriculum Information
We believe at Lowbrook that there is an expectation on the part of both adults and children that learning is important and enjoyable and that everyone can improve.
The learning process is valued and there should be a supportive atmosphere that allows children to make and learn from their mistakes.
Below we have included the year group curriculum overview, class timetable for this term and the slides from the 'Meet the Teacher' session held in September.

Helpful information:
We will teach Physical Development (PE) on a Monday and a Wednesday.
Children will need to come to school on these days in their kits.
If your child is being collected by anyone other than yourself, it is essential you notify us immediately if your child’s after school arrangements change.
Homework is set regularly throughout the week. Please check Google Classroom regularly, where work and resources will be uploaded.

All children should read for at least 20 minutes every day. Here are some suggested reading books for EYFS children:

Phonics
At Lowbrook Academy, we follow ‘Monster Phonics’ to support the teaching of early reading. Monster Phonics is a multi-sensory scheme which supports children when learning the most common sounds in the English Language. Monster Phonics uses colour-coding to promote understanding, which leads to children becoming confident, independent learners. Confidence builds their passion for school and for life.
We know that children learn best when parents and teachers follow the same methods. Working in the same way is vital for reinforcing learning so here is some information to help you use the Monster Phonics approach.
